Otto, He’s always got a map (even upside down), and a plan (even if it’s half-baked).

“Maps are great, but sometimes you just need a good snack and a basic idea of direction.”
—Otto

Otto never quite fit in with the other otters. While they were busy perfecting synchronized swimming and competitive clam cracking, Otto was off sketching creative ideas and wondering if there was more to life than sea urchins and conformity.

So one day, once he was old enough to make his own decisions (and just rebellious enough to ignore good advice), Otto stuck out his thumb and started hitchhiking up the coastline. No destination. No plan. Just a vague hope that somewhere out there, he’d find a place where misfits weren’t just tolerated—they were celebrated.

That’s when I saw him. Standing on the side of the road, thumb out, tail curled, and a look in his eyes that said, “I don’t know where I’m going, but I’m going anyway.” I took a chance. Picked him up. And neither of us has looked back since.

Otto is now the official mascot of Working Titles. He still doesn’t know exactly what he wants in life, but he’s learned to laugh at the uncertainty. He rides shotgun on every literary detour, every half-baked idea, creating pithy quotes along the way. He’s the spirit of the journey—the wandering heart of our brand.

If you ever feel lost, unsure, or like you’re holding the map upside down, Otto gets it. He’s been there. And he’ll be the first to remind you: sometimes the best stories start when you don’t know where you’re headed.
